LENEXA, Kan. (May 11, 2018) – Keywest Technology announced today that it will showcase its latest SignWave IoT display solutions and software improvements at InfoComm 2018, which is an annual trade show for all things audio-visual in North America. The mega-expo will be held in Las Vegas through June 6-8.

If Keywest Technology’s announcements could be summarized in one word, “sophistication,” would be the word that comes to mind, said Koytt Nichols, Keywest Technology’s president and chief technology officer. “Sophistication is in the details. What separates our latest SignWave displays from other all-in-one solutions is the level of choice.”

Nichols continued, “It’s not a solution to have the most technically-advanced displays on the market, they also must be powered with the most advanced software if it’s going to be a great solution that fits a variety of clients’ needs. By using Breeze cloud widgets, SignWave displays take advantage of sophisticated IoT features without using 3rd party add-ons that often add more complexity and expense than necessary.”

Keywest Technology launched the original SignWave display in 2013, which primarily targeted the nascent conference room sign market. Today, with multiple package variations, SignWave is a solution for many multi-function roles that extend beyond conference room signage. For example, the all-in-one displays have grown to become more versatile by offering custom cloud widgets that perform data automation, multiple display sizes, mounting options, and advanced features, making possible digital reader boards, digital posters, mini kiosks, digital menus, and digital POS sales assistants.

The newest additions to the SignWave digital signage system come with many standard IoT features with options for customization. For example, the Breeze cloud widgets can aggregate social media feeds, weather, news, scheduling info, and EMS event data, then display it conveniently in real-time at convenient locations. There’s even a widget to source your corporate calendar from Google or MS Outlook. Most interestingly, SignWave can be custom programmed using Breeze widgets to perform almost any data interaction or information retrieval imaginable, including push/pull interaction from smartphones using Bluetooth, NFC, or RFID, depending on the model chosen.

Keywest Technology will showcase its newest SignWave models at InfoComm 2018. Some of the features that will be on display include:

  • Windows 10 IoT OS on Intel motherboard, but models can also be ordered with Android if preferred
  • Breeze CMS with cloud widgets that enable powerful data aggregation and interactive IoT features from external sources
  • Modern 10” and 15” LCDs designed with a lightweight aluminum chassis
  • Hardened glass touch screen for both usefulness and durability
  • Integrated RFID that supports the majority of standards including 125KHz, 13.56MHz, HID Prox and HID iClass with low/high frequency
  • Grade A components for commercial environment ensuring long life, which significantly reduces the cost of ownership
  • Super thin wall mount only protrudes one-third of an inch from wall
  • Multi-dimension mounting on glass or wall surface with flush mount options
  • Integrated POE+
  • LED indicator lights for conference room availability
  • Integrated 5MP camera

Finally, not content to put all of its ‘sophistication eggs’ in one basket, Keywest Technology doubled-down on maximizing the security of its most popular cloud software, Breeze Digital Signage, which powers SignWave displays, plus thousands of other 3rd-party display screens throughout North America.

According to Nichols, “…after a flood of high-profile hacks on the Internet, which highlight the seriousness of this issue, security has become a top concern that can only be mitigated with the diligent application of security technology and built-in safeguards.”

Keywest Technology reviewed and implemented security upgrades to Breeze 2.0 in the first quarter of 2018 that included a comprehensive network intrusion detection system (NIDS), which proactively monitors intrusions, sends alerts, and provides real-time intervention based on known traffic patterns, signatures, and many other variables.

Breeze software engineers also upgraded the UI and UX with improvements based on customer feedback, and further enhanced customer management features, such as sophisticated role-based access control (RBAC) with extensive user permissions, single sign-on (SSO), configurable login mapping and auditing, and secure password formulations. All of this to help verify each login, limit access, maximize admin control, and provide traceable accountability. All of these additions were made on top of Breeze’s leading cloud architecture, ensuring the best digital signage experience possible.

Interested parties and system integrators can contact Keywest Technology for a demonstration at InfoComm 2018 in Las Vegas, NV. End users are invited to attend the Expo at no charge when using Keywest’s VIP code KEY264 while registering.
