Inclusive and multifunctional urban spaces – Next Level Customer Experience
The Objective
In the context of the revolutionary urban project of Portanuova in Milan (Italy), a global leader in the real estate market sought an advanced outdoor technology solution that could seamlessly integrate with the surrounding urban environment.
The request was to create an innovative advertising system capable of withstanding the most challenging environmental conditions while blending perfectly with the design and architecture of Portanuova. Indeed the customer envisioned an environment where digital technology was an integral part of the urban fabric, not only as a communication tool but also as a means of adding value to the community by improving the usability of public spaces.
The Solution
In response to this challenge, GDS designed and provided 30 digital faces of MIDAS Stele products. These totems, characterized by a highly customized design, were clad in specially crafted steel to recall the natural green tones of the Bosco Verticale, a symbol of sustainability and urban innovation. The totems were designed to be easily accessible, with electronic components that can be quickly replaced on-site, minimizing downtime and operational costs while delivering bright and captivating images, even in direct sunlight. This approach made the system highly reliable and suited to the dynamic needs of public spaces like Portanuova.
The Result
The DOOH project for Portanuova represented an exemplary case of how technology can transform urban spaces, creating a more dynamic and interactive environment.
The integrated digital solutions not only improved the quality of visual communication in the district but also contributed to making the Portanuova area a model of sustainability and urban innovation. Additionally, the project’s positive impact extended to the citizens and visitors, offering a richer and more engaging urban experience.
